About Our Project

One of the most important environmental challenges in the modern world is how to improve the quality of life without damaging the environment and without harming the future generations. This question concerns the future of Europe and of the entire planet

The amount of resources on the Earth is limited. It's a fact that existing resources will end one day and the people who have owned and carelessly consumed many values will not find them in the years ahead.
The threat especially on the ecological balance is growing day by day and scientific predictions for the future of the nature are grim. Our irresponsible consumption puts the world and the quality of lives of the future generations in danger. Even though there are recycling and eco-friendly production methods, the necessary and ultimate long-lasting solution is the prevention of unnecessary consumption.

We all use our precious resources in our daily activities, whether we are citizens, members of civil society or authorities at different levels. The excessive consumption destroys the world existing balances and leads to the damage of nature, deforestation , sea and air pollution and extinction of fresh water resources, endangering some species of animals.

It is necessary for people to learn how to keep their consumption level balanced in order to leave life-friendly environment for the future generations. Today all the human activities depend on the limited and vulnerable resources which it is vital to protect. By launching its European natural resources initiatives as part of the Millenium Development Objectives, the European Union has ensured the inclusion of a “research”component with the aim of improving scientific co-operation on resources management.

The aim of our project is to make our students be aware of the importance of research ,innovation and competitiveness to develop skills and competences to a level that equips them for adult and working life. We hope it helps them find the best solutions for rational and sustainable utilisation of the precious but threatened resources of our planet.

Reducing excessive consumption does not necessarily have to mean having a low standard of living but we will try together with our students and their families to apply eco-measures that would not have a major effect on the quality of life: *Reducing hot water use, which would save money and energy
*Reducing the amount of water you consume by turning off the tap or filtered tap water
*Reducing shower time by 1-2 minutes to conserve water
*Using an energy star rated dishwasher to save more water
*Reducing the amount of resources and water you consume while travelling with these green travel tips
*Low flow toilets can also reduce water usage
*Reducing plastic consumption
*Reducing the amount of food that spoils in your fridge
*Reducing the amount of things you throw away by seeing if you can reuse them first
*Reducing the energy your computer consumes through simple and easily endorsable
means such as the use the ‘shut down’ feature on your computer instead of the ‘sleep’ mode
*Turn the heat down a notch or two to save money and energy
